2026 Knowles Head Exercise Press Conference

WHAT: The 2026 Knowles Head Exercise Unified Command will hold a media briefing at the Valdez Civic Center on Wednesday to discuss response efforts

BACKGROUND: The tanker, T/V Western Sea was in an allision with a cargo barge while at anchorage at Knowles Head in the morning hours of May 12, causing an immediate spill of crude oil to water.
